Meet Your Plain City Orthodontist
Dr. Luke Schweiss earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with honors. He then attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.
Upon graduating from dental school, Dr. Schweiss completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Pittsburgh. There he served as chief resident and earned his certificate of advanced study in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
Dr. Schweiss lives in Plain City with his wife, Gina, two kids, Oakley and Archie, and their Boston Terrier, Otis. He is an avid sports fan and loves to talk sports, so feel free to bring up hot topics in sports when you’re in the office!
Other than sports and spending time with family and friends, you can find Dr. Schweiss watching and singing along to the latest and greatest DreamWorks, Disney, and Pixar movies (thanks to Oakley and Archie)!
Dr. Megan Jusseaume was born and raised in central Ohio. She completed her undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University, graduating with honors.
She continued her education at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and was honored with induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honorary Society.
Dr. Jusseaume completed specialty training in orthodontics at the University of Colorado. While there, she received a Masters Degree in Dentistry and defended her thesis on preventing white spot lesions during orthodontic treatment.
Outside of the office, Dr. Jusseaume enjoys staying active and spending time with her husband, David, and their son, Leo. They love being outdoors in the garden, on a hike with their dog, or exploring a national park.
Because she and her husband are native Ohioans and OSU alumni, you can find them cheering on the Buckeyes every Saturday in the Fall.
Why A Plain City Orthodontist?
Choosing an Orthodontist Vs. a Dentist
Not all dentists are orthodontists, even though every orthodontist is a dentist. Our doctors continued their formal education for two or three additional years before receiving the necessary license and certification. As orthodontists, our doctors have spent years studying nothing but how and why to move teeth. This includes what to do, how to plan, and how to execute the appropriate treatment plan.
Why does it matter if you see your Plain City orthodontist?
Specialists like our doctors receive additional training to give them the skills needed to deal with more complex orthodontic problems. Dentists receive basic orthodontic training which allows them to perform root canals, extract wisdom teeth, and treat young children who do not need to see an orthodontist yet.
Seeing a specialist like your Plain City orthodontist may change your experience in braces by:
- Providing additional treatment options.
- Giving you more efficient treatment and visits, because it is the office's primary area of care.
- Knowing that you'll receive the best possible outcome on your treatment plan, especially if you have severe bite problems that need to be addressed.
- Personal experience treating multiple cases that share your unique concerns.
- Being seen more quickly, as a family dentist will be focused on longer patient cases or emergencies throughout the day.
You may think it's easier to have your orthodontic work completed by your dentist. Convenience shouldn't be a reason to choose a dentist over an orthodontic specialist, because you will only be stopping by your Plain City orthodontic offices every six to eight weeks.
And don't let price be a problem either! Smiles To Love Orthodontics is proud to provide affordable treatment in the Plain City area.
