STLO GIVES BACK!
At Smiles To Love Orthodontics, our office is about more than straight teeth. We believe in supporting our local community and because of this, a portion of your treatment fee will be donated to local charities! Currently, we are supporting Blessings in a Backpack Marysville and the Plain City Food Pantry. Below are descriptions of the charities we are supporting this year…
BLESSINGS IN A BACKPACK MARYSVILLE
Blessings in a Backpack, a non-profit program, is designed to feed elementary school children who qualify for the federal Free and Reduced Price Meal Program and are at risk of having little or no food on the weekends. Better test scores, improved reading skills, positive behavior, improved health and increased attendance have all been attributed to the success of this program.
Blessings in a Backpack provides food at Edgewood, Northwood, Raymond, Navin, and Mill Valley elementary schools, as well at Creekview Intermediate school. They have been working at the schools since 2012, and the program grows each year.
Most people don’t realize that over 62% of children in public schools in America are eligible to receive the federal Free and Reduced Price Meal program. Blessings in a Backpack Marysville believes the only way to help those children rise out of poverty is to ensure they have the proper nutrition they need during the school year so that they have every chance to learn and succeed. 100% of all money raised is spent on purchasing food for the children in our local schools.
PLAIN CITY FOOD PANTRY
The Plain City Food Pantry is a non-profit organization that provides food, groceries, and toiletries on a monthly basis. The food pantry also provides clothing and apparel for all ages and runs completely on volunteers.
Their mission is to “show compassion to those in need by providing food through our pantry and mobile services.”
The Plain City Food Pantry currently serves 1200-1400 people per month and close to 25000 pounds of food per month.
